The lives of courageous American heroes may be lost and we may have casualties. That often happens in war“, said our president about our latest attack on Iran. That often happens in war? THAT OFTEN HAPPENS IN WAR!?!?  Could he be more tone deaf?

Let’s get it out there upfront. Iran is evil. Iran wishes us ill will. No one disputes that.

What we would all like is some honesty about what the hell is going on. What we would all like is some seriousness about going to war. Do not treat the American people like they are stupid.

Last June, we attacked Iran. Afterwards, the president assured us we had “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear capability. In fact, as of this morning it is still posted on the official White House Website that we have done so.

Which News is Fake News?

Now, as a part of the justification for our current actions, we are told the Iranians could have a nuclear bomb in days. Gee, what happened? Those Iranians must be pretty f^cking smart to have rebuilt their nuclear program in half a year after it was obliterated.

As a veteran, what bothers me more than anything are his comments “The lives of courageous American heroes may be lost and we may have casualties. That often happens in war.”  No, Mr President, that always happens in war. Always. Only someone who is not only obtuse but also oblivious would make such a statement. Even someone who avoided war by having bone spurs should realize that casualties always happen in war. If those words were your way of preparing Americans for the fact that our men and women in uniform may die or be wounded in the coming days, you still do not understand what going to war means. We will have casualties. That always happens in war.
