Cath and I are among the diminishing number of people who send out Christmas/Holiday cards. In our busy digital world, fewer people send them, and among the younger generations, it is almost nonexistent. That is just life today. Me? I still enjoy the annual “old fashioned” event of exchanging Holiday cards.

$$ DI$NEY $$
Let’s face it, DI$NEY is America’s Mecca. Almost everyone makes a pilgrimage there at least once in their life. For America, it is proper that the place people would make a Hajj to, is also capitalism at its best or worst, depending on your view. Many Americans make the trip, despite going in debt to do so.

To me, it is pretty simple. If Hegseth did not give the command to kill everybody on the “drug boats”, then someone else, like Admiral Bradley did. Is Hegseth not guilty of this? Fine, then he should bring charges against Bradley, or whoever gave the order, and potentially, the person who pulled the trigger.

Yep. I was an Eagle Scout. A God and Country Awardee. A member of the Order of the Arrow. It turns out approximately 20% of West Point cadets are Eagle Scouts. I was not surprised, but nonetheless appalled to recently learn Secretary Hegseth plans to sever all military relations with Scouting.

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I was thinking about family dinners and how they have been affected by our President. The President does something better than anyone else in the world. He screws up relationships. I am talking about our personal relationships with each other – with our families, friends, and neighbors. It does not matter whether you are Red or Blue, or somewhere in between. If you are honest with yourself, you know your personal relationships have suffered.

It is one of my favorite photos from our time in the Army. I say “our time” because that is what it was. I was the soldier, but Cath and I were both a part of Army Life. To me, the picture brings back the memories of the great joys, along with the intensity of everything in the Army of the early ‘80s.

I know it’s hokey, and I know it’s not fine wine, and yet, I could not resist buying a bottle of Beaujolais Nouveau at a local wine shop a year ago in November of ‘24. In the ‘80s when stationed in Germany, the annual November release of Beaujolais Nouveau was something we looked for, and looked forward to.

Virginia’s elections on Tuesday were clear in their results. Pundits will discuss the results trying to discern what truths they can. The truth I know is that for the first time in over 30 years, Northern Fauquier county where we live will be represented in the House of Delegates by a Democrat – my friend John McAuliff.

All – I’m sorry you received a duplicate of the blog “Haters” on Tuesday. I was trying to correct a WordPress issue, and inadvertently sent the blog out twice. Whoops. 🙂

My friend, Jennifer, and her husband have three children. She is a hair stylist and has her own shop. You can imagine her shock and horror when she received a work text saying, “… I hope you don’t recover from that surgery and it fucking kills you you fat fucking gay white bitch.”
